The El Paso native Air Force Veteran has been garnering both local and national attention after his finalist run on Season 5 of NBC's The Voice. His debut EP Sail It Away was composed of a minimal flurry of acoustic takes, highlighting delightfully simple melodies, highlighting his crackling voice and fragile, yet powerful vocal delivery. At the 2014 Austin Music Awards he received “Folk Band of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” and “Male Vocalist of the Year.” His first full-length, Promises Broke, which came together after a successful Kickstarter campaign, was released in June 2015 and Gray is calling it a return to basics.
