BIOGRAPHY
Raised in Texas by Korean immigrant parents, BettySoo grew up with classical music, country radio, and, eventually, Texas songwriting legends. Heat Sin Water Sin (2009) with Gurf Morlix built an international audience, When We’re Gone (2014) firmed her place in the first rank of songwriters, and demos collectionInsomnia Waking Dream put her writing and musicianship on display. She’s won awards and played festivals/shows: Kerrville, MountainStage, SXSW, Kerrville, Calgary, E-Town, BBC2/Bob Harris. BettySoo toured solo, as a member of Nobody’s Girl, and other bands, and as dedicated support for artists such as James McMurtry, Alejandro Escovedo, and Chris Smither.
